Did you know this summer you can spend a fun-filled afternoon with your family in South Los Angeles -- checking out cool artwork, listening to good music, and enjoying delicious fare from a bevy of food trucks? And that entrance to the event is FREE?
The first annual Westmont SouthLA ArtWalk kicks off July 27, from 1-5pm, in the historic community of Westmont. Community Coalition is bringing together artists, musicians, and uniting South L.A. through culture, community, and creativity. We need you to be part of it! Click HERE to RSVP.
What: Westmont SouthLA ArtWalk
When: Saturday, July 27, from 1-5pm
Where: 108th St and S. Denker Ave (next to Washington Prep High School -- in the Historic Westmont Community)
There will be 50+ booths with artists displaying and selling everything from fine art -- painting and sculpture -- to jewelry, clothing, and even urban art forms like graffiti murals and tattoo art!
We’ll have a unique competition, where artists submit pieces addressing the topic of “citizenship” -- exploring the intersections between our broken immigration system and the U.S. prison system -- both issues that disempower Black and Brown communities. There will also be resource providers offering a variety of services such as legal advice on immigration status, expunging records for ex-offenders, and free health screenings.
With live music, fresh offering from food trucks, and beautiful artwork for your eyes, you won’t want to miss the first annual Westmont SouthLA ArtWalk! RSVP today!
