Get involved with Community Coalition to help create positive change in South LA.
Community Coalition is currently working on three campaigns:
Communities Rising - Transforming Neighborhoods Residents living near the neighborhood of 39th and Western can become involved in this grassroots campaign to improve their community through nuisance abatement work, improving King Park and reducing crime and violence. To get involved and learn more about our monthly Community Action Meetings or next event in this community, please contact Karume at (323) 750-9087 or email karume@cocosouthla.org.
Our Future, Our Fremont - Educational Justice This is a youth and parent-led campaign to win real and substantive reform at the chronically low-performing Fremont High School. Youth and parents have developed a set of key proposals to improve the quality of education and bring much-needed resources to the student population. To get involved or learn more, contact Tonna at (323) 750-9087 or email tonna@cocosouthla.org.
Winning Mental Health Resources for Relative Caregivers - Relative Care Relative Caregivers save thousands of children from foster care and group homes, yet they don't receive the same level of mental health resources to help raise their children. If you are a relative caregiver and would like to help lead the fight for resource-equity, contact Edgar at edgar@cocosouthla.org.
Volunteer Opportunities If you would like to volunteer your time at our office or for our campaigns, please contact us at (323) 750-9087 or stop by anytime during business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 8101 S. Vermont Ave.
