The Getty presents a provocative documentary film series titled “Witnesses in Action” beginning Saturday, September 25th through Sunday, October 3rd.
The film series reels photojournalism into cinematography through powerful films investigating war, globalization and labor, political upheaval, and youth culture. Complimenting the exhibition Engaged Observers: Documentary Photography since the Sixties, the films reach into often hidden spaces to illuminate difficult human realities in places as close to home as inner city and suburban Los Angeles to factories in China and war in Afghanistan and Iraq.
