Occupy King's Dream

On Monday, Jan. 16, Community Coalition kicked off Occupy King's Dream with over 250 members, friends and allies at the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Kingdom Day Parade. Allies from the L.A. Black Worker Center, the Korean Resource Center, the Mobilize the Vote collaborative, and CHIRLA brought their amazing energy and unifying messages of solidarity, jobs, housing, education and immigration reform.

King’s Dream. Our Dream!

Dr. King had a dream for economic equality. Before he died, he launched a campaign against economic inequality. He fought for jobs, fair wages, housing and education. On Monday South L.A.’s 99% marched because we are now further away from his dream than ever, especially in our community.

Community Coalition launched a new Civic Engagement program that will continue to build South L.A.’s leadership and fight for Dr. King’s dream of economic equality. To join our regular People Power Assemblies, please call Tonna Onyendu at (323) 750-9087 or email tonna@cocosouthla.org
